Symmetrian Website Launches: A New Hub for Inclusive Research Collaboration

May 27, 2025 | Matchmaking Platform

The European Patient Advocacy Institute (EPAI) is proud to coordinate the ongoing development of Symmetrian, the new matchmaking initiative aiming to foster more equitable, inclusive and collaborative research. As part of this journey, we are pleased to share the launch of the official Symmetrian website:đź”— www.symmetrian.org

While the full matchmaking platform is still under development, the website offers a first look at the values, goals and opportunities shaping Symmetrian — an initiative designed to strengthen partnerships between researchers, patients and patient organisations prioritising fairness, transparency and meaningful patient involvement.

The website serves as a central hub for:

  • Learning about Symmetrian and the principles behind it
  • Exploring how the platform will function and who it is intended to support
  • Discovering how to get involved in upcoming pilot activities and beyond
  • Staying up to date with achieved milestones and future developments

Symmetrian represents a new approach to research engagement — one that not only acknowledges but actively promotes patient partnership and shared governance.

The platform itself will launch soon, but the website is already live and ready to explore.
We invite all interested stakeholders — from researchers to patient advocates — to visit, stay informed and help shape the future of collaborative research.
